LATEST NEWS.  June 18th 2025.

New owners for Mistletoe Winery.

Today we announce a significant milestone in the journey of Mistletoe Wines.

After more than three decades of nurturing vines, crafting wines, and building cherished relationships, we, the Sloan family, are pleased to share that Mistletoe will soon begin a new chapter under fresh stewardship.

CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP – WHAT THIS MEANS

As many of you know, our family poured heart and soul into every bottle, and every moment, spent at Mistletoe.

The decision to pass the baton has not been made lightly.

We have been fortunate to find new owners who share our passion for quality, tradition, and genuine connection with customers.

They are committed to preserving the values and boutique winemaking approach that have defined Mistletoe since its founding.

They will continue to produce wines that reflect our longstanding “Quality without compromise” approach.

For our loyal supporters, this change means that the spirit of Mistletoe will continue—just with new hands at the helm.

We are extremely proud to introduce you to the new owners of the Mistletoe Wines business.

They are David, and, Amy McWilliam, and family.

David is a 5th generation member of one of Australia’s best-known winemaking families.

In 2023 David and Amy decided to carve their own path here in the Hunter Valley purchasing part of the heritage Black Cluster vineyard which is located in Mistletoe Lane, about 500 metres as the crow flies from our old property in Hermitage Road,Pokolbin.

The property has stunning, in-your-face views, of the Brokenback Mountain range.

The vineyard comprises 235 acres of land with 65 acres planted to the Hunter grape stalwarts, Semillon and Shiraz.

The vines were first planted in 1969 and under the McWilliams stewardship has recently been accredited with Sustainable Winegrowing Australia certification.

The McWilliams duo intend to plant Chardonnay and are investigating the possibility of including some lesser-known varieties down the track.

Wines will be made in the Mistletoe style and two vintages,2024 and 2025, have already been produced.

The first of the new releases will be available in the latter part of 2025 and will include the Mistletoe Rosés and the enormously popular Silvereye Semillon.

Ken and Gwen will lend a hand behind the scenes as the McWilliam family build production and bring youth and energy to the business.

Gwen and I wish Amy and David every good wish for success with the Mistletoe Wines brand, we are certain that they will honour the “Quality without compromise” approach on which Mistletoe’s success has been built over the past 30 plus years.

NEW RELEASES.

The first releases of Mistletoe Wines produced by David and Amy McWilliam will be announced in the latter part of 2025.

LOOKING BACK WITH GRATITUDE, FORWARD WITH HOPE

We are deeply grateful for your steadfast support, friendship, and loyalty over the years.

The memories we have created together—at the cellar door, in the vineyard, and through every shared bottle—will remain with us always.

As we step back, we do so knowing that Mistletoe is in caring hands and that its story will continue to grow.

We encourage you to stay connected with the new team as they keep you updated on future releases and events.

With heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes for the future,

Kind regards,
Ken and Gwen.
