Reserve Shiraz 2014 perfectly reflects the quality of the vintage and the vineyard.
Hand harvested, destemmed and crushed prior to small batch fermentation then followed by maturation in French oak puncheons – 25% new.
Deep brick red in colour with intense red and black fruits on the palate.
Non obtrusive French oak and soft tannins complement the long and beautifully balanced palate.
Whilst drinking beautifully now it will continue to delight for the next 15 years or more.
This wine is best left alone for 5 years if possible, however, it is drinking nicely now and benefits from decanting prior to consumption.
Food match – Charcoal grilled medium rare aged Scotch fillet with assorted mushrooms.
Drink to 2035 and beyond.
96 points – James Halliday – Australian Wine Companion 2017.
