James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2011

Long recognized as the most definitive wine guide published in Australia the 2011 edition of James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion was released on July 28th 2010.

Mistletoe has received a most rewarding result, retaining the coveted 5 Red Star rating, the highest accolade given in the book.

Of the 12 wines submitted for Halliday’s evaluation 11 of them achieved ratings of 90 points or more. Eight of those wines were rated 94 points or more.

For those of you who were fortunate enough to purchase the Mistletoe Grand Reserve Shiraz 2007, when it was released, here is some great news!

When it was released we said that we thought this was the best Shiraz we had ever made and may even be a “once in a lifetime wine”. In the 2011 Australian Wine Companion James Halliday has rated this wine at 97/100!

To put that rating into perspective, the 2005 Penfolds Grange received 96 points.

Unfortunately, we have limited stock of this wine and it has been withdrawn from sale until the end of August when some embargoed accolades regarding this wine will be published.

Grand Reserve Hunter Valley Shiraz 2007

Great colour, deep and intense crimson-purple; an outstanding wine, combining richness with grace and elegance; layers of plum and blackberry fruit, the tannins ripe and balanced, oak subtle. From low-yielding dry-grown 40-year-old vines. Will be a great Hunter shiraz in the decades to come. Screwcap.
