Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year
It is with much pleasure, and pride, that we announce that our winemaker Nick Paterson has been awarded Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year 2012.
Nick is a highly intuitive winemaker who was raised in the Hunter Valley where he was influenced by the likes of his late father David Paterson, Len Evans, Murray Tyrrell and Iain Riggs at Brokenwood.
Nick spent nearly 7 years at Brokenwood and then three years as Tyrrell’s Red winemaker prior to joining Mistletoe in 2003.
2013 sees Nick’s 10th vintage at Mistletoe and he just goes from strength to strength. Nick is not only a great winemaker who has an enduring passion for the Hunter.
He is a great bloke to be around, has a wonderful sense of humour and is a loving Dad, father and son. He is a great friend, we regard him as one of the family and are proud to do so.
He also runs his own family wine label Chateau Pato in Thompsons Road Pokolbin and makes very small quantities of highly rated Hunter Shiraz under this label and they are well worth seeking out. Tastings by appointment only on:
02-4998-7634 or email hunterwinecountry [at] bigpond.com.
Thank you Nick, for the work you do for us and the pleasure of knowing you. You really deserve this award, Congratulations. Well done!
