Dining at Home
One of the regular discussions we have had with people visiting our stand at Eveleigh Farmers Market is about the current and predicted future state of the Australian economy.
The GFC (Global Financial Crisis) has not really affected Australia, as yet, but all of us are concerned at what the future may bring and thus we are all being understandably cautious.
Visitors to our stand are telling us that they are changing the ways they live their lives and not spending the way they used to. In particular, they are telling us that they are not eating out as much as before!
They are coming to the market and buying beautiful fresh produce such as shellfish, farm fresh eggs, mushrooms, lamb, beef, pork vegetables, desserts, chocolates and fruit and getting together with a few friends to celebrate.
It reminds us of ourselves as newly weds when we and our friends could not afford to eat out. We held a dinner once a month, setting a theme for the night such as French or Russian or Spanish etc. The couple hosting the dinner prepared the main course and the other guests brought pre-dinner nibbles, entrees, desserts etc. Everyone supplied their own wine and we had some absolutely fabulous times.
Why don’t you try it!
Pick up all you need for a great dinner in a leisurely cruise around the Eveleigh Market.
Why not arrange to meet your friends there for early morning coffee, plan the dinner together, buy the freshest ingredients and come to the Mistletoe stand to select some lovely wines to complement the food you will prepare.
We look forward to welcoming you!
